The boss and I were going through some cake mail the other day and I stumbled on an old email I had saved. This email will forever remain in my inbox because it has touched my heart permanently and I never want to forget it. I want to share the email with you and hope that it will touch you also and that you will read it with the same reverence of which the author has written it. (ps. tissues needed.)
“Hi Becki (and other Whippy Angels!),
I just had to take a minute to write you and let you know that you have inspired me! I’ve been following your blog for quite a while now, and LOVED your RAOK birthday that you did.
Ever since I read that blog post, I’ve been wanting to do the same thing.
Last year, on Feb. 11, my daughter was born and passed away. Its a long, bittersweet, grace-filled story, but in a nutshell, we found out at our 20-week ultrasound that our daughter, Whitney (who was very much wanted and we’d tried to conceive for YEARS) had a fatal condition called Triploidy. Our doctors recommended that we terminate immediately, because there was no chance of survival for her. However, in our hearts we knew that was not the right decision for us. We could not choose when to stop her heart. So we placed her in God’s hands, and enjoyed 4 more wonderful months of her growing in my tummy. :) Even though we knew she would not live past birth, we held on to the belief and hope that her short little life would be a light for others to see how very precious each person truly is.
Now here we are, one year later. I was at a loss for how to celebrate such a difficult day, but we truly do want to celebrate her life. She has forever changed us and so many around us. Then I remembered your RAOK day… and knew that was what we’d do for Whitney’s first birthday. My family lives literally all over the world, and this is a great way for them to still be involved in remembering her this day.
So, all that to say, thank you for the inspiration of a Do-Good Day. This Friday, more than 100 of my friends, families and even strangers will be participating in our Whitney Jill RAOK birthday celebration. I love the balance you have of creativity, business, family and goodness. Keep doing what you do, because it is great!!
Much Love,
Sheyenne”
As if the letter didn’t just send me over the edge reading about Whitney’s RAOK birthday just makes me lose it. I’m so so so blessed. Sometimes that’s all there is to it.

How sweet & inspiring!
What a touching story. My heart goes out to that family. I am amazed by how positive she is in the face of such a trial. Her daughter is lucky to have her as a Mommy and some day they can be together again.
It is wonderful how WC is helping to inspire people to be kind to others! I try to RAOKs as much as I can, but jamming a bunch into one day is something I need to do one of these days!
Hope that you have a great day!! hugs!!
Very touching! Thanks for sharing Becki!
