The winner of the Essie giveaway is
Whitney F. Comment #9.
With my pending vacation to The Cayman Islands just a few short days away I have been taking the time to do things I don’t normally have time to do or maintain, like getting my nails done. I don’t vacation or take breaks very often so I am definitely trying to milk this trip for everything it’s worth. I don’t usually get my nails done because a.) being a compulsive crafter that I am, my nails typically get trashed from the glue and other materials that haphazardly make it onto my hands. b.) I lack the free time to maintain them by getting a fill or a touch up every few weeks. Since I have been stressed to the max for the past several months I decided that I would throw practicality out the window and indulge in a full set of sculpted nails and have them painted my favorite color (WHITE!) to help me feel a little more glammed up for the trip. I should note that paying for a full set is only worth it if you have a nail tech who is competent and experienced or you might end up paying for a heaping mess of acrylic on your fingers. I trust Tracy with my nails more than anyone so I wasn’t worried but I strongly urge you to get a reliable referral before you make an appointment for your own nails. I asked Tracy to do an accent finger with some chunky glitter for added pop and drama because, well, I am dramatic like that.
Fast forward to later that day when I was at Target picking up a few last minute necessities before the trip when I stumbled upon these new Essie Sleek Sticks. I probably stood there for about 10 minutes debating whether or not to try them. I had tried out the Sally Hansen brand of nail appliques in the past but was left wanting when they were oddly shaped and didn’t fit my nail bed and starting peeling away like latex after only one day. Ultimately the Oh My Gold! pattern won the mental battle and I bought the sleek sticks because I have a hard time passing up gold and awesome packaging when it comes to just about anything. I was so excited about how easy the Essie appliques were to use. They are a lot more durable and don’t just tear or fold over which made applying them really easy. The process consisted of 3 very basic steps. 1. wash hands and clean nail bed with alcohol. 2. Choose an applique that fits the nail precisely, apply and hold it to the nail, smoothing out any wrinkles with your finger. 3. File the edge off gently with the provided nail file. BAMO! Very professional and glamorous looking nails with lovely detailing. I put these nail appliques in my highly recommended product column. They were $10 at Target or you can find them online [HERE] for $10.
To celebrate my return to blogging I thought I would show my appreciation to all of you who have stuck around through the static and silence on my blog and giveaway two sets of these new Essie Sleek Stick appliques.
