primping for valentines day: look 1

My friends and I thought it would be fun to do a mini “look” series  based on different individual styles to give you ideas for your Valentines Day plans. So I put together 3 different looks,  3 different styles, on 3 different girls. We had a lot of fun playing dress up in my studio… so much fun we redid the shoot twice. Oy vey. Girls will be girls I suppose. Let’s skip to the part where I share look 1!

The Delicate Darling

This look brings back the dainty sweetness women have been admired for throughout the ages. I love the simplicity of this look so much. I feel like sometimes with the curse of pinterest we sometimes try to incorporate too many ideas into one ensemble when we are dressing up and experimenting, me more than anyone.

  • Hair: simple and pulled back away from the face to highlight those feminine cheek bones with a bun that adds height while keeping the style soft and tasteful.
  • Dress: endearing and darling with the silhouette and length plus the cotton eyelet material, still flirtatious because of the punch of red.
  • Makeup: minimum eye color, refined and elegant. The absence of accessories really accentuates the clean and precise eye makeup and the crisp red lips!
  • Shoes: jail stripe wedges add spunk with the playful print but maintain the sweetness of this look because of the bow and peep toe.

I think this look would be sublime at a picnic for two or a lunch date at a quaint cafe. I also like that the whole outfit is somewhat timeless and most women could easily feel comfortable but confident adorned in something similar to this. What do you think, can you picture yourself  all arrayed in red?

ps. Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for Look 2!
